Discover the Elegance of Terracotta WEDDING INSPIRATION at Borgo di Corsignano
“Italy, I love you!”. A phrase typically used by people that come to Italy. They fall in love with the fragrances, the places, and how we Italians live our lives. We are eccentric, fiery, gourmet, and traditionally patriotic. Perhaps, it is for this reason that many couples choose Italy, especially my Tuscany, to celebrate their most beautiful day, just like Will and Fiona.
Will and Fiona, from England to Tuscany to say “Yes, I do!”
Rather than the cosmopolitan beauty of London, a multi-ethnic city with a thousand lights and facets, Will and Fiona, for their most beautiful day, preferred a not very touristy area of Tuscany – I dare say, as true connoisseurs of the territory – the Casentino. Where everything seems to have stopped in time, immense valleys and evocative landscapes with that unique charm stand out, even more, when the chosen destination is a medieval village like Poppi.
An Hamlet in the heart of Tuscany where to celebrate love
Authenticity has always been essential for those who crown their dream of love in Tuscany. And right, for this reason, Borgo Corsignano, a resort in the heart of Cásentino, has made inroads into the heart of Will and Fiona. An exclusive wedding venue full of authenticity and surrounded by nature.
So, on a typical ‘postcard’ August day and under a beautiful blue sky with an en Plein air ceremony overlooking the castle of Poppi, Fiona and Will pronounced the fateful “Yes, I do!”.
The surrounding landscape was the co-protagonist, together with the bride and groom, of the entire design of this beautiful event. Starting from the wrought iron circle – one of the works of art of the venue – that framed the view. And then, the colors were chosen as caramel, white, terracotta, powder, and powder blue, which made everything even more harmonious.
Another fundamental element of this wedding project was terracotta. Its color influenced some of the nuances of the palette, and we used the material for the table plan, the table markers, and other small design elements.
An authentic Made in Italy wedding weekend
Before their big day, as with any destination wedding worthy of its name, Will and Fiona wanted to celebrate and welcome part of their friends and relatives who arrived at their destination days before the wedding. How? With a classic (but never obvious) pizza party. Moments rich in essence and Italian style.
A welcome dinner came to life in the outdoor garden of their “home” overlooking the lake, always inside the venue.
Finally, the day after the wedding, to thank their loved ones, we created a beautiful lunch with a typically Made in Italy style, renamed Tuscany lunch. The pasta was the event’s undisputed queen, and the red color made everything Italian! We could not miss the ice cream that, thanks to the beautiful Volkswagen bus that housed it, made the lunch perfect!
The event ended with a fun pool party with live music, with an English band directly from London for the newlyweds.
