An unforgettable destination wedding in Val d’Orcia
The Val D’Orcia, it’s impossible not to fall in love with this beautiful territory. A “slice” of the Tuscan valley that conquers the heart, crossed by the river Orcia, from which it takes its name. This valley draws sinuous landscapes between the provinces of Grosseto and Siena. That Tuscan pearl has also made inroads in Mario and Fiona, my lovely couple.
Mario and Fiona from Switzerland to Tuscany to crown their love dream
As soon as I met them, I immediately realized what they wanted to recreate for their destination wedding in Val d’Orcia, a wedding project where the common thread had to rhyme with simplicity. That authenticity in the details and the compositions had a single purpose: to represent beauty, authentic beauty.
That beauty shone through in the chosen flowers with natural colors of green, white, antique pink, and a touch of champagne. In the union of mix-and-match bleached wooden chairs and wooden pallets are used as seats for the aperitif, in wrought iron for the ceremony, and dark wood with total white cushions for the evening reception in the splendid Locanda in Tuscany.
The Locanda in Tuscany was the venue chosen for their day, and, in its wonderful courtyard, two imperial wooden tables came to life. A long floral “runner” with white candles made the atmosphere even more romantic for dinner—the perfect setting for the emotional speeches of Mario, Fiona, and their loved ones.
An extraordinary “plan B”…
Mario and Fiona have always loved sailing, and the wind was the protagonist for the day. Almost like a sign of destiny! But what happens in these cases? You have to be prepared with a just as extraordinary plan B.
In fact, despite the strong wind, the ceremony took place en Plein air with a truly romantic and memorable ending, the realization of a four-handed painting, those of the spouses.
Even the reception, immersed in the typical Tuscan colours, saw some changes during its set-up, like the different arrangement of the placeholder with the flower and the menu or the addition of the tall candlesticks without the flame guards. The result? Just what they wished: extraordinary!!!
And for the big day’s end, a fabulous wedding party that, apart from the incredible music as the main character, also gave everyone a beautiful surprise: a delicious and unique Fiat 500 cocktail bar version.
